Homebound DeliveryDo you know someone who is a LME Library District resident, unable to visit the library on their own and would like to have a volunteer deliver books, movies or music CDs to their home? Lillie M. Evans Library’s Home Delivery service provides library materials to residents who are unable to visit the library due to temporary or long-term physical illness or disability. Home Delivery patrons must reside within the LME Library District to be eligible for this service. All circulation policies apply. Verification from a physician, social worker or registered nurse may be requested. What Library materials are available and what is the cost? Materials available for delivery include all LME Library materials with the exception of “New” items and popular DVDs, up to 20 items each month. You may request specific titles or books by your favorite authors, subject to availability. Materials will be selected for you based on the reading interests you indicate to the Home Delivery Coordinator. By participating in the program, you agree that the library will keep track of the titles we have checked out for you previously. However, you may receive titles you have already read. This is a free service provided by library staff and volunteers. When are books delivered? Deliveries are made the first Friday of each month by dedicated library volunteers. At the same time, volunteers will collect materials from last month to return to the library. How do I sign up? Please call LME Library at 385-4540. What are my other options? As an alternative to this program, you may prefer to have library materials selected and delivered by a friend or family member. With your written permission, library staff can authorize use of your card by a person of your choice. Can I volunteer with the Home Delivery program? Yes, Home Delivery requires many volunteers to help with book selection, check out, and delivery. Please call the Library at 385-4540 if you are interested in helping with this service.
