Summer Reading Program 2016!

Color in one square every time you and your child complete an activity together. When you complete a row your child will get a prize. When all 15 of the pictures are colored in your child will get a *book to keep.
Program runs June 6 - July 9.
Final day to turn in logs is JULY 9 @ 1pm.
We have an ALL NEW format for K-5th!
Readers will choose their own goals, either a number of pages/books or so many minutes by the deadline of July 9th. Readers may check-in with their progress one time per day. They will choose either a Mystery Bag prize or to be entered to win the weekly prize. Once a week readers may also donate 1 book to Princeville District 326 for use in the grade school library or classrooms during their check-in.
New Pool Party Info: Only readers fulfilling LME summer reading requirements in the K-5th program may attend the pool party for free. Immediate family may attend at a reduced rate of $2/child; $3/adult (no cousins, friends, or neighbors please). There is no charge for parents to enter to observe only. Readers that fulfilled the LME summer reading requirements will also get snacks and a prize pack. Additional family members in attendence will not receive snacks or prize packs to please plan accordingly.
Reach your reading goal and turn in your log by July 9th to earn entry to the pool party.

There are nine challenges set in your path. Read a book from the challenge genre or come to a library program to mark it completed. Complete at least 6 challenges, on/by July 18th in order to be victorious and deemed worthy of entry into the Teen Grand Prize Drawing for a new tablet.
Grand Prize drawing will be held at the Final Party, July 18th.
Program runs June 1 - July 18.
Logs are due MONDAY, JULY 18 @ 4p.
Read (or listen to) 6 books and write a short review about why you did/didn't like it. Adults who have completed their log will be eligible to win the Summer Prize Basket! Earn a bonus entry by browsing the library during the Heritage Days Art Show and signing the guest book.

ALL ABOUT STORYTIME
Storytime is for children ages 3 - 5 years of age. Usually the child attends without an accompanying adult, but if the child wants or requires their adult to be present, that is fine.
Storytime usually lasts approximately 1/2 hour and consists of stories, songs, craft and games.
It is important that the child be 3 years of age before attending Storytime because of the level of the activities. By the same token, children who are older than 5 will be beyond the level of the activities and be bored. You may register for storytime anytime during this session after your child has turned 3 years old.
Storytime will meet every-other week during the school year. Storytime will not be held during school holidays or emergency days, such as snow days or other unexpected closures.
Storytime does require sign-up. This way adequate materials are available at craft time. You may register online, by phone (385-4540) or at the front desk.

Toddler Time Storytime is for children 18 months - 36 months of age and a parent or caregiver. Toddler Time will include stories, songs and action rhymes but no crafts. It generally lasts 20 minutes.
Toddler Time will meet every-other week during the school year. Toddler Time will not be held during school holidays or emergency days, such as snow days or other unexpected closures. Toddler Time does not require sign-up. Drop-ins are welcome. Join us anytime during this session after your child has turned 18 months. Upon turning 3 years of age register your child for Storytime to continue age appropriate fun!

Toddler Time does not meet over the summer. However, there is a "Read to Me" summer program for babies through pre-k age children! Look for more information in May. :)
After school programs for K-5th grade occur monthly, usually the 3rd week of the month right after school, 3:15 - 4:45 PM. It includes movies, theme parties, or crafts.
After school programs will not be held if school is dismissed early due to weather or other unexpected closures.
