Lincoln Exhibit-Illinois in the Civil War

 The first program in our Lincoln series and is entitled Illinois in the Civil War and will be presented on April 8th at 6:30pm by Tom Emery.  Tom Emery is an accomplished freelance writer and historical researcher from Carlinville, Illinois.  He has written seventeen book and booklet titles, mainly on the Civil War, Lincoln, and Illinois history. He also writes a bi-weekly newspaper column on Illinois in the war.  He has won six awards from the Illinois State Historical Society; most recently, the Award of Superior Achievement in 2012. In Illinois and the Civil War, Tom will introduce us to leading Illinois generals and regiments before highlighting the action of Illinois troops in major battles.  He will also discuss home life in Illinois during the Civil War and leading Illinois non-military figures.
